The Agent Hungary client Gábor Gyömbér announces retirement

The Agent Hungary’s client Gábor Gyömbér announced his retirement at the age of 34 and therefore leaves NB II side Soroksár. However, he’s not detaching himself from the world of football as he continues ad a scout of recent Champions League participant, Hungarian champion and Hungarian Cup winner Ferencvárosi TC. His decision was welcomed by FTC sporting director Tamás Hajnal.

Our client has been interviewed by several sports websites after the last match of his career, among those was csakfoci.hu. The full interview is available here.

Gábor Gyömbér said that he decided to hang up his boots six months ago and his last home game in Soroksár was a memorable one as the club secretly invited his children, wife and parents to the match. They ended up winning 2-0 against Csákvár.

The main reason behind the decision was the pain he had to endure in consequence of his numerous knee surgeries earlier in his career. He could only take on the pitch with painkillers over recent years, but this season he even needed them for trainings.

The Agent Hungary’s client wanted to stay in the football world though. He will be a member of the Ferencváros scouting team, a job he was doing for the last 3 years as a part-timer. He was invited to join the club by sporting director Tamás Hajnal and he becomes a full-time employee from now on.

Gábor Gyömbér is open to start a coaching career within a few years of time, but right now he’s excited about the challenges his new job presents. He is still going to be supported and represented in his new career by The Agent Hungary.
